Sacred Potatoes


  • 1 (32 oz.) package shredded (hash brown) frozen potatoes
  • ½ cup melted butter (margarine?)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 12 oz. grated American cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
  • ½ small onion, chopped or grated
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • ½ cup melted butter or margarine


Place thawed potatoes in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish.  Spray lightly with Pam.  Mix together next six ingredients and pour over potatoes, spreading to cover.  Top with crushed corn flakes and drizzle melted butter over all.  Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes.  (recipe says it serves 12, but not at my house!)
